Rick Springfield, Are You Ready?!

Tomorrow night is the book signing for Rick Springfield’s recently released book, Late, Late at Night. I’m going to Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville to stand in line with at least 167 other fans to have him sign my pre-bought copy.

The other night, Jim was sitting in bed with me, playing with his Blackberry. Very calmly, he asks, “Are you wearing the tiara?”

It took me a minute to realize he was asking if I was going to wear the tiara to meet Rick.

As I told him, “I’m not sure. I haven’t decided.”

I’m also debating whether or not to take him an autographed picture of the two of us that I made in Photoshop.

Dear readers, what should I do?! Advise me, please!

  1. I keep thinking that “pre-bought copy” sounds dirty. So in my mind, I’m hearing, “Oh yeah. He’ll sign your pre-bought copy. He’ll sign it all right. Hard.”

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, either.

    • And now it’s going through my mind now. Will I giggle when I see him?! I read this to Jim and there was no reaction at all. Not even a Jim joke. I think he’s getting a little scared!

  2. I wish I had seen this before the big meet and greet. My vote (to little too late) is for the tiara AND the autographed photo. I cannot WAIT to hear the story. I’m LOLing just thinking about it!

    • Well, I did the photo. With a cute little note, “look how your eyes are drawn right to the tiara.” It wasn’t until this morning that I realize that unless you are TOLD that with a little giggle and a certain inflection, you might miss the fact that it’s a JOKE! lol

  3. Oh how I hope you wore the tiara & took the photo! You just had to have! Oh how I wish I could have been a fly on the book if you did!
