Guest Blogger Becky J Webb: Can I have your vote?

During the month of October I got the privilege of attending Relevant 2010, my very first blog conference. At The Relevant Conference I was amazed to meet bloggers in real life and get to know them outside of bloggy land. And I have to admit that I was a little bit star-stuck, I mean some of those ladies make a significant income by sharing their passions through blogging. Many of their blogs I read on a fairly regular basis, and many of their tips that have to do with cooking, home remedies, frugality, and even parenting have made their way into our home.

I am continually amazed at what kind of impact a simple blog can make on people. It is true anyone can blog. Sure, there are some people that are much more creative, write better, and are more entertaining than others and hence draw a greater readership but, anyone can improve their writing skills. You can always improve the quality of your blog. It will just depend on how much time you spend to bring your readers high quality content. It also depends on the people whom you surround yourself.

I have to be honest and share that I started my blog, Our Peaceful Home in order to draw an income for my family. Though I have always enjoyed writing, I didn’t start my blog as a hobby. Even though I haven’t gotten rich from my blog I have been blessed with lots of free stuff. I like free stuff. *smile* Seriously, in all reality like most families I am sure it is helpful to have either free stuff or an extra income to make ends meet. My children are small and I really desire to stay home with them for now.

My family and I are committed to living life simply. We really do want to live completely debt free (including our house), never carry a credit card again, live green, eat nourishing and healthy food, parent with a purpose, and raise our kids to love Jesus. My husband and I will be the first to admit that we want to be weird. I believe that with our simple lifestyle we do have a message to share with the world. I want to share with other moms all that I am learning and I want to learn from them too.

On January 26-28, 2011 the Blissdom Conference will be taking place at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. I really want to attend. I want to attend because Blissdom is in my home state and is only two hours away, and I want to attend because I can bless other people with the words that I have to say. I also want to attend so that my blog will go further, reach more people, and be a blog that people want to read. I want to bless my family with my blog so that it isn’t something that just drains my time, but adds an supplemental income for our family.

Market Mommies is giving away a ticket to Blissdom this January and I am one of six contestants that is entered to win. But, I won’t be able to win unless I can have your vote. Voting only takes a second and all you have to do is click here. I am the first contestant, Becky at Our Peaceful Home. I have a message to share with the world. Will you help me share it by voting for me to attend the Blissdom Conference? I would be so grateful for your vote!

  1. I just wanted to pop in and share a little bit more about Becky – She and I were roommates at The Relevant Conference and I have to say she deserves this ticket! I’d love to see her win the ticket and get to go to Blissdom. I truly think that she will take full advantage of the conference and soak in as much information as possible to benefit her blog and her readers. Please vote! Stop by her blog, get to know her. 🙂 Love ya Becky!
