I finally did it. I got an iPhone after recommending it to everyone I know! It took swtiching carriers, but it’s done.
And I’ve never been happier!
I switched to an Android phone last summer. I was told it was just like or even better than the iPhone. No missed calls! No shaky coverage in certain areas! Millions of free apps!
Let me just say that I think the Apple people are gods. I want to meet with these development people and hug each and every one of them. They brought us the original genius of the iPod. Honestly, who knew you could fit 1300+ songs on a device the size of a deck of cards! I am a child of the 80s where we thought walkmans were the rage! Where we used cassette tapes!
So why I was swayed to believe that a knock off of the Apple genius would work the same way is beyond me. Except we had a long-term relationship with a carrier that didn’t have the iPhone. That’s my excuse.
With my Android phone I missed calls. Sure, it wasn’t because of spotty coverage. It was because the damn phone’s touch screen was erratic! I would swipe and swipe and swipe and nothing would happen. Seriously, answering a cell phone shouldn’t be a massive undertaking. Yes, I want a Smart Phone that does lots of things…including answering phone calls!
Apps…in one year I was not impressed with the Android apps. Sure, they were free, but how many Katy Perry ring tones do I need? After indulging in Apple Apps on my iPod Touch and my iPad, I was used to the ease of using Apple apps. And I didn’t need to give odd permissions for each and every one of them. Plus, Apple vets all their apps so you don’t get odd phone viruses. Plus, I don’t mind paying for decent apps. Sometimes you get what you pay for!
I’ve had my iPhone for a month now. And I am still deliriously happy with it.
Are you an iPhone or an Android fan? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
