I love oatmeal! In fact, I participated in a lively discussion on a mutual love of oatmeal on Facebook recently. Now I can enjoy my oatmeal and remember high school friends fondly as I do!

I love to eat my oatmeal with frozen blueberries, a splash of milk, and a dash of sugar. I don’t use instant oats, but I do cook them in the microwave. In addition to now thinking of high school friends, I also remember my Gramma Pfannenstiel who made us oatmeal when we stayed overnight. That steamy goodness sweeps me right back into her kitchen.

With my incredibly problem-prone skin, I appreciate the oatmeal in Aveeno products. It’s soothing and helps out tremendously. I’m so glad the Aveeno people thought about using oatmeal in their products!

How much do you love oatmeal? Any recipes to share? Has anyone tried cold oatmeal? I saw some recipes on Pinterest over the summer that had promise, but I never tried them!

My latest batch of products contained one of my very favorite Aveeno products. I don’t know about you, but I get a little lazy at night. Dinner’s cooked and I’m shutting down. Having a container of AVEENO^® CLEAR COMPLEXION DAILY CLEANSING PADS in my bathroom means cleansing my face is going to be easy peasy! They are pre-moistened so you can start washing immediately. One side is slightly more textured so you can doing a little gentle exfoliation if you need it. Toss the pad in the trash, rinse, and you can be on your way!

Here are the details:

• Improves skin tone and texture
• Lifts away dirt, oil and makeup
• Dual-textured pads
• Pre-moistened, self-foaming pads lather on contact

I also received AVEENO^® CLEAR COMPLEXION FOAMING CLEANSER. I love this stuff. It’s so light and seems to cleanse my face just enough. I don’t leave the shower feeling my face has been tightened or over washed. Plus, it leaves my skin feeling slightly moisturized. My dry skin problems seem to be increasing daily, so any little bit helps! This offers enough comfort until I can get to my regular moisturizer.

The third thing is AVEENO^® CLEAR COMPLEXION DAILY MOISTURIZER. I’m only using this at night because it has no SPF protection. Luckily, it’s a perfect night moisturizer. It’s not so heavy that I worry I’ll stain my pillow cases. I wish this had some SPF protection because I would love it use it as my daily moisturizer.

I was provided with a free sample of this product so that I might review it.

Right now I am obsessed with crows feet! I was at the movies and found myself distracted by the actors’ dessicated eye areas. I know, what a stupid thing to be obsessed with! It’s probably because I am beginning to get that crepe paper look around my eyes.

Just in time, Aveeno sent me a sample of their latest eye product: Positively Radiant Eye Illuminator.

The packaging is different than other eye creams I’ve tried. It comes in a cute pod and the product is applied to your eye area with a brush. Then you gently pat it or rub into your skin. I use my ring finger so I don’t rub to hard–aggravating those wrinkles even more! I read that tip somewhere…do you think it’s legitimate?

The Eye Illuminator joins the Positively Radiant line which contain formulas designed to improve the 5 Factors of Radiance:

3. dullness
4. blotchiness
5. brown spots

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I think I’m seeing a difference! I really wish I had taken a before and after picture to be sure.

I know that immediately after applying the Eye Illuminator, my eyes do look brighter and they feel softer. I have a brown spot by my left eye and I’m watching it closely to see if it fades!

The product soaks in quickly and doesn’t leave me feeling like I’ve applied anything heavy. Which is a bonus. There’s nothing worse than walking around feeling like I’m wearing an inch-thick layer of eye cream! Plus it hasn’t bothered my super-sensitive skin in any way. That’s a big bonus!

Aveeno sent me a starter kit of the Positively Ageless skin care line. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I am really impressed! The Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is great! It a gentle exfoliator, so I’m not getting irritation on my super sensitive skin. But it’s exfoliating enough that my skin feels wonderfully smooth!

I’ve been noticing some nasty lines around my eyes lately so I was pleased to find the Lifting & Firming Eye Cream. It’s a nice consistency and it gets absorbed quickly. No waiting around with greasy crows feet!

The moisturizers in the collection are great. The day time moisturizer includes SPF 30 to protect your skin from sun damage. It’s a light moisturizer, that’s perfect for the hot, humid days of summer. There’s nothing worse than a thick layer of moisturizer covering your skin in the heat of the day! The night moisturizer is creamier but still light weight enough to avoid greasy pillow cases!

I hope you’ll give these products a try! The above items were given to my by Aveeno. But two of my current favorite Aveeno products I bought myself. The Creamy Moisturizing Oil is perfect for my dry skin! It has a pleasant light scent and is absorbed quickly. I love the Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads because I am a lazy night time face washer. These pre-moistened pads with different textures on either side are perfect for a quick cleaning before bed time.

Summer skin protection is a big issue with me. Even before being diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome and developing an incredible sun sensitivity, I was leery of the sun after reading about the rising incidents of skin cancer. After a childhood and early adulthood spent burning and tanning every summer, I knew I was at risk.

I’ve been lax about getting my skin screenings at my dermatologist. But I’m not lax about using sun screen every day. Finding a sun screen that is nice enough to wear daily isn’t always easy though.

Luckily, Aveeno has a sunscreen that works perfectly for me! Aveeno’s Hydrosport Sunblock Lotion is my choice for this summer! I’m excited about the way the lotion goes on. It isn’t sticky or hard to spread. It actually does flow like a body lotion. After it’s applied, it doesn’t immediately have nor does it develop later, that sticky, oily feel so many sunscreens do as the day wears on. I’ve been using it for awhile and even on our recent hot Chicagoland days, I never felt it.

We have a filter on the refrigerator water dispenser. It’s been several years since we’ve given up the bottled water, but we haven’t missed it.
