Have you visited the Aveeno Be An Active Natural Facebook page recently? This month they are asking us to reduce our use of plastic shopping bags.
I have plenty of reusable shopping bags. They are one of the things I seem to collect. Yet, I never remember to take one into the store with me! I need to work on this!
Go to their Facebook page and take the pledge to carry reusable shopping bags. You can get these for little cost at most retailers, you can make your own, you can craft your own…really the way to get them is endless! The point is, we need to get them and use them!
According to Aveeno:
About 1 million plastic bags are used every minute, and a single plastic bag can take up to 1,000 years to degrade. So before running errands, try to remember to have a reusable tote bag on hand. Make it part of your checklist before leaving the house. So if it used to be keys, wallet, phone, now it’s keys, wallet, phone, tote.
This is such a small change but it makes a huge difference by eliminating plastic bags that many times end up in dumps and lead to unnecessary waste.
